San Diego Recommendations
We love San Diego! And we love the experiences and restaurants the city and surrounding areas have to offer. This is just an easy guide for you to enjoy.
Encinitas
Our little neck of the woods…
Coffee
Lofty Coffee. This is our go-to for the best breakfast, and the best cup of coffee around.
Ironsmith Coffee. The locals spot. Great coffee by the nicest guy on the block.
Food
Taco Stand. Homemade and delicious, and on the affordable end.
Fish 101. The freshest fish you have ever had. Incredible fish tacos, and a stunning poke bowl.
Blue Ribbon Pizza. The original high-end pizza on the 101.
Buona Forchetta. Newer to Encinitas, but the most charming and quaint Italian date night.
Birdseye Kitchen. Best Thai food in the county. When someone uses Mary’s Chicken, you know the quality is something they’re not skimping on.
Goodonya. All organic, homemade, sustainable ingredients — but tastes incredible as well!
Encinitas Ale House. The best spot for beers in all of the state. Also, responsibly raised beef makes for the best burger in town.
Carlsbad / More North County
Campfire. This is our best.
Steady State Coffee. Best coffee north of Carlsbad Village Road.
Little Italy (just north of Downtown)
For a long time, Little Italy was the tourist trap of the town, and now it is where culinary masters make their mark around here:
Ironside. The most customer-centric seafood dining experience you’ll have.
Underbelly. My personal favorite, and the most solid (and Americanized) bowl of ramen in Southern California.
False Idol. TIki bar.
Point Loma (near airport / Downtown)
C Level. Best burger in town.
Mitch’s. Go back to feeling like you live in a harbor town with extremely fresh fish.
Tender Greens. The best salad / sandwich café ever.
